Libraries as research information and faculty profiles hub
VIVO, or another lightweight metadata-only repository to catalogue and link to scholarly
artifacts (publications, data, etc) created at MIT, to provide:
- Panoramic institutional record of MIT scholarship
- One-stop process for metadata entry and claiming of auto-populated records
- Standard data formats, for reusability and interoperability to exchange data with other
Institute-based systems as well as external sources
- Foundation for data-driven decision process in Libraries and other Institute academic
planning efforts
Note: maybe this could be supported by a grant for libraries as a community anchor?...
