The documentation or registering of research can take many forms. Increasingly, art museums, biennials, and other events/venues present themselves as places where research happens or is exhibited. How can the research library of the future register forms of artistic research that are not documented in scholarly publications and catalogues? I wonder if information-sharing partnerships with other arts and culture institutions or archives could help connect MIT students/researchers with unconventional forms of knowledge production.
